Forms of Snow
Snow Pack
When snow is on the ground, its fluffy properties began to melt and freeze and eventually turn to ice when it packed down. As this cycle continue and gain a dense mass.
Snowdrift
When powdery snow blown or carried by wind and landed to another location, forming a deposits which may have a depth of several meters.
Snow Slab
Snow attached to hillsides, blown can evolve into a snow slab, which is an avalanche hazard on steep slopes. The existence of a snowpack keeps temperatures colder than they would be otherwise, as the whiteness of the snow reflects most sunlight, and the absorbed heat goes into melting the snow rather than increasing its temperature.
Glacier
When snowfall stays on the ground for a series of uninterrupted years, the snowpack develops into a mass of ice called glacier.
